How does a heat pump work?

Heat pumps are designed to absorb heat from a cold space and release it into a warmer one, making the cold space colder and the warm space warmer. When it is cold outside, a heat pump extracts the heat energy outside and moves it inside. When it is hot outside, it works in reverse and acts like an air conditioner, removing heat from your home.

Heat pumps move heat instead of generating heat, giving you better energy efficiency.

By combining a heat pump with your furnace instead of an air conditioning system, you are able to reduce energy costs, saving you money in the long run.

If you would like to learn more about installing a hybrid heating and cooling system in your home, or your current furnace or air conditioners need maintenance or serviced in the Medina, Cuyahoga, or surrounding Ohio areas, contact Custom Comfort Heating and Air Conditioning.

With a hybrid heating and cooling system, the furnace is combined with a heat pump instead of an air conditioner in order to save on fuel. A hybrid furnace or air conditioner system reacts to changing temperatures and automatically adjusts to the most efficient energy saving method available to heat and cool a home.
